Republic of Algeria Penal Code (2009) Article 49 A minor under the age of ten (10) cannot be prosecuted. Minors aged ten (10) and under thirteen (13) can only be subject to protective or re-education measures. However, in matters of contravention, he is only liable to a reprimand. A minor between thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) years of age may be subject either to protection or re-education measures, or to reduced penalties.
